Pros

Some students are great.

Cons

Students are very underprepared for a real academic environment. No intellectual culture in certain departments. Curricula more for high school level than college. No job security. Low pay. No training. Adjuncts are evaluated by student feedback forms only, not faculty or peer evaluations. Incentives to inflate grades and suck up to students - as opposed to offering a real intellectual experience. Creates weird power structure. Sloppy HR practices. Sketchy communication. Stay away and work for another school.
