Pros

You get free snacks and coffee. The role itself isn’t hard.

Cons

No parking, no set time on when you clock out, can’t start your day until deliveries arrive (hence why no set time on clocking out), you can’t leave early if you finish early but they expect you to stay late, you’re in a shared space with another team and your schedule for the day is also dependent on them, the people that have been there for quite some time are very tight-knit and will treat the space like high school.

Pros

-The mission of the company is noble -There is a barista on site -there are smart, dedicated, capable employees

Cons

-Tempus does not care about you as a person at all. They only care about productivity. If you say there is too much work, the response is “everyone has too much work” -Tempus does not care about diversity and inclusion. This has been made abundantly clear in recent weeks -There is no focus on career development. You won’t receive recognition for good work and there’s no clear way to get a promotion, but Tempus is quick to provide negative feedback or fire staff for poor work rather than providing help. The way to be most successful is to either have personal connections with upper leadership, be hired in at a high level, or be one of the original tempus leadership members. Your outside experience and work done on the job don’t seem to mean much if you’re hired in at a lower level position -little to no formal training, but people are quick to blame staff rather than realizing there may be an inherent training problem -there is little to no management training so if you have a bad manager, it won’t get better. Voicing concerns about your manager to upper leadership won’t do anything since people development is very low on the priority list. -no 401k match or bonuses (at least for non management positions). Tempus would rather spend money on things that make the company look “cool” over giving employees better benefits or salaries -Leadership doesn’t listen to subject experts -Speed is always prioritized over quality. Tempus cares more about how they are perceived externally than the actual quality of work produced. -Priorities shift extremely quickly, but you will be expected to finish whatever else you were working on even if a new, time-consuming and higher priority assignment has been given to you
