Meaningful work but terrible compensation

Pros

Doing ground breaking and trail blazing work with really interesting research. The company is growing substantially. Recession proof. Decent work life balance.

Cons

Horrible pay for the cost of living in Chicago even in a pandemic. Too much pressure on JDAs to excel or get fired. Not enough opportunities to move around in the company. Took away too many benefits and no stock options. No diversity and inclusion efforts whatsoever.

1. There is no such thing as being bored here. There are always problems to solve. 2. Incredibly cross-functional. In any given room, you're working with experts in business, science, and technology. 3. The people are so passionate about the mission, but it's a business-driven company where we understand that when we do well, we're able to do more good.

Cons

1. Moves CRAZY fast. Can be difficult to keep up. 2. Need to be super comfortable with change. 3. Things can still be manual and frustrating.
