sweeping rules like remote vs in-office requirements and mask policies seem to change overnight. upper management cares about looks above all else. upper management doesnt seem to listen to feedback, especially from the lab. max 3% yearly raise doesnt even keep up with inflation.. and dont even bother trying to get a raise, getting a new role with more responsibilities is almost always a "lateral move" the same (or less) pay. it is easy to take on greater responsibility, but dont expect to be paid for it
