Cons

They switched the shifts around 4 times in the 2 years I was there and then gave me a 2 day notice to pick either 2 or 3 that I had no other option

Pros

Most of the floor workers were great people.

Cons

During my time at Tenneco, I encountered several serious issues that affected the overall work environment. I feel it is essential to share my experiences with potential candidates considering this company. High Turnover: The company experienced a significant turnover rate, which raised concerns about the company's ability to retain employees and maintain a stable workforce. Public Fighting Among Management: There were instances of public conflicts and disagreements among management, which negatively impacted team morale and cohesion. Inconsistent Scheduling with no Notice: The scheduling practices at the company were consistently inconsistent, causing confusion among employees. Moreover, schedule changes often occurred without prior notice, leading to challenges in planning personal commitments and resulting in occurrences if an employee missed an unplanned shift. Forced Overtime with No Work: Employees were occasionally forced to work overtime without any productive tasks to perform. This led to frustration and a sense of wasted time and effort on the part of the employees. Unequal Overtime Opportunities: It was evident that some employees were willing to work overtime, but the opportunities for extra hours seemed to be distributed unequally, leaving eager individuals with no chance to take on additional work. Suggestions and Termination: I had raised concerns about safety practices, particularly regarding the improper disposal of oil. The company initially responded positively and implemented my suggestion to comply with regulations. However, they failed to provide proper training to new hires or enforce better practices consistently. Unfortunately, after voicing my concerns, I was unexpectedly let go from my position. Overall, my experience at Tenneco was marked by several disconcerting issues that impacted the work environment negatively. I hope this feedback will help potential candidates make informed decisions about their career choices.
