Pros

Decent base pay bonus money if the sales group makes their numbers and the solution architect snags most of the professional services hours

Cons

Highly political. Solutions architects compete against each other to get chosen by Account Executives in presale situations. They want to monopolize the professional services hours for themselves.Turf wars over the best accounts and account executives. Managers play favorites based on drinking buddy status instead of skill and productivity.

Teradata in Transition

Pros

- People I work with are great and care about their work. - San Diego office will be going to an open space concept this year to attract younger talent. - Free onsite gym, basketball courts, volleyball court, outdoor track, foosball, ping pong, and pool table. - Starbucks-like coffee shop with discounted drinks.

Cons

- Heard salary is lower than other tech companies in San Diego. - Little to no salary increases and bonus. Company is going through layoffs and transition from Fall of 2015 through 2016/2017. - Through its actions, upper management has proven it doesn't care about employees' opinions.

Pros

Years ago they used to make money

Cons

Addicted to hardware, the majority of the revenue is from it after marking it 1000% and well just look at hardware companies these days. No room for upward mobility. Company is old and running out of ideas. Always reactive to keep their few big customers happy. Most the people are very very old and do just enough to get by day to day. Loosing huge ground to the competition. No actual cloud vision at all just smoke and mirrors. ITS organization is the oldest, most out of date I've ever seen. See all the other reviews on the IT group, they are dead on. R&D is slow, hugely overburdened with the mountains of ridiculous formal processes. I mean how many times do you need to write a formal design document for a feature that should take no more than 100 lines of code. Understaffed all the time. Never willing to hear new ideas, even the CTO level is closed to any new ideas or concepts. Do not see the competition or recognize the changing industry.
