Pros

Big American firm bringing an international context.

Cons

Very weak (or completely missing in my case) connection between the consultants and their managers. Blaming and finger pointing culture.

Pros

Great company culture top to bottom. Management is eager to have employee feedback. High performers are rewarded. Good ambiance locally in my office. Good salary. Solid product quality and competitive advantage has led Teradata to outlast many of their competitors over their 40 year history.

Cons

Rapidly evolving market and pressure from new competitors has led to several not-fully-thought-through management decisions: management changes, organization restructuring, outsourcing key services & roles, product roadmap milestones not being met. Lack of stability. Communication is sometimes unclear, uncoordinated, and contradictory. Teradata works hard to attract sales talent, but support services are seen as an overhead - every support service is getting thinner every year even when the business/workload increases.
