Pros

401k, nice health benefits, management (atleast at my office) is good in the sense of you are able to talk to them whenever you have an issue and they’re usually really nice.

Cons

Terrible pay. I’ve been offered almost double what I make at other firms. I’ve only held out this long because I came to Terracon with no experience or training so I feel like I should stay for a while. Lack of work. For the first year and some change I was working 60+ hours every week in town, then all of a sudden (months before covid) the hours just stopped. Have had to work across the country for some months just due to no one at our office getting anywhere close to 40 hours. Also management seems to be scared to dive into other types of inspection services. Really sucks because I really did like this company and now it’s hard to find a reason to stay.

Pros

Decent experience for an entry-level position Not too much travel Pay scale is typical

Cons

Low cost, low quality environmental consultant. Management treats the hourly staff horribly. Always underbid projects to get the work and then demand employees complete projects in half the time it actually takes to do the work. Turnover is ridiculous and an accurate reflection of how people are treated. Somebody was leaving every month or sometimes every few weeks.

Pros

Benefits, 401(k), Insurance, and PTO

Cons

Working 50-60 hours a week to meet client deadlines during peak periods; 85% chargeable goal was difficult to meet when projects I brought in were given to other employees; employee-owner does not mean you get to make any decisions or service clients you have developed; white-male dominated company

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. The Covid-19 pandemic has unfortunately impacted some of our office operations. It is regrettable, but we had to make the hard decision to lay off some of our valued employees where business has been the most impacted. If you would like to share more about your experience, please contact us at corporate@terracon.com. We appreciate your outreach and the opportunity to respond to your concerns.
