      Too Large?

      Pros

      Stable work environment. People are mostly friendly. Benefits, stock options and 401K are all good. Very organized corporate work structure.

      Cons

      Company sometimes feels too large and impersonal. I've never met or talked to the CEO/President. Company seems more like a holding company for smaller competing engineering firms at times, rather than a large unified company..

      Pros

      Great coworkers. Had an opportunity to learn and experience different career topics.

      Cons

      Hours. I have two kids and could not always be at work at 630am until 530pm. The staff would make comments about my hours constantly. Supervisors willingness to have others take the blame.

      Pros

      I got a lot of experience and made networking connections. I got a lot of experience that I apply to my job now. I got to travel and do that I may have not done otherwise. They paid for some graduate work I did.

      Cons

      I was project staff and fully billable for almost 7 years. When the work ended I was treated like I had done nothing for the company as was put on furlough status waiting for a contract. I understand the economy is bad but I was really surprised and disappointed after working as hard as I did for the company. It was time to move on to a federal government position which I have thoroughly enjoyed and am happy to have in such unstable times.
