Pros

Amazing and inspiring nurses and physicians to work alongside with Great opportunity to demonstrate business/strategic skills Constant growth Strong informal mentor philosophy Very real sense of pride and appreciation in community

Cons

Unhealthy politics lead from the top Relationships between physicians and administrators often is/feels forced Shockingly few vacation days, sick days and holidays No maternity leave Fear and "sense of urgency" frequently used to motivate action

Pros

To work with some of the finest pediatric physicians in the country. Gain experience to use in future opportunities. Decent benefit package.

Cons

Business IT structure outdated -- not cutting edge with technology or personnel on business side. Physicians work for an academic institution, which makes it tougher to align them with the hospital's business goals. Lower pay than industry average.
