Pros

TI is one of the most ethical companies in the world. It is also one of the few companies that gives substantial profit sharing to all employees. Telecommuting is encouraged.

Cons

Too many reorgs. In my division, these basically halted progress for a week or more at a time, and new managers rarely understood the accomplishments and capabilities of their "new" employees.

Pros

Large established infrastructure worldwide, good benefits in the US.

Cons

Just like leaders of many other publicly traded companies TI managers are mostly focused on impressing investors. This culture spreads through all levels of the company. It does not matter what you do, it only matters what your boss think you do. The company has very few innovative products. Product designed decades ago generate most of the revenue.

Pros

Texas Instruments has a great history with a global footprint and many Smart people ruwho have stuck around through the turbulent recent past can make this company great once again.

Cons

The entire company is run like a Sales team. Long term vision means thinking about 4 Quarter during the first Quarter. Texas Instruments really needs to shed it's Inbred management of Sales people and hire some experienced and qualified technology executives. There is no technology company in the world that can continue to grow and prosper by spending more money on SG&A than R&D (take a look at their 2013 Annual report)
