Pros

HR recognizes the need for employees to like their job both for retention and effort reasons. Product Development and Testing are respected and done well

Cons

R&D is somewhat starved. Leadership doesn't seem to have the desire to fund anything that won't pay off for > 2 years.

Pros

Salary is good because of the location in Texas where things are cheaper relatively. You can find and interact with a variety of experts - software, algorithms, systems, digital, analog.

Cons

Lack of technical leadership where decisions are driven by non-technical Program Managers and Sales Managers. Program managers managing technical developers doesn't seem to be effective. Engineering managers with good understanding are required.
