Pros

Knowledgeable team, get to work on a huge variety of projects and technologies, you can have the opportunity to architect complete hardware solutions.

Cons

You are a part of the sales organization. Great for pay, but you deal with sales team a lot... Hours can be very long (80+ hrs/week for 4-6 month stretches)

Pros

As a field application engineer, I had lots of flexibility in my work schedule and had the opportunity to work on many interesting projects.

Cons

Texas Instruments is a very large company and it often feels like you are just another employee. They also tend to be a little more conservative with their products and are not always at the cutting edge of semiconductor technology.
