Pros

The 401K match is the only pro about the company. The benefit package is typical of corporate America. You pay a lot for very little coverage.

Cons

Management does not communicate with their staff. There is a constant revolving door of people leaving because of the way management treats you. Since being so under staffed mandatory overtime is a demanded. They do not give opportunities to all employees, just the ones they personally like. With the constant turnover, Agency appointments are constantly changed. This does not give you the opportunity to make relationships, and nothing is ever truly related to the Underwriters. In just the past year the HRO regional office has lost between 8 to 10 underwriters and 3 supervisors. One of those supervisors was only with the office for a month before he had to leave. This office is being run poorly by a Manager who came from a marketing position after retiring. Management is so disconnected from their underwriters. I would highly not recommend this company to any underwriter that is seeking a well paid job and experience. You will only find frustration and headaches.

Pros

Gym and cafe on site, decent hours

Cons

Wow where to begin. This company is an absolute JOKE. They tend to feed BS into your minds about how quickly you can move up, etc but as time went by I noticed that the only people who got to a halfway respectable position in that company are the ones dumb enough to wait around 8-10 years. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with this POS company. The imaging area is full of immature childish people so if you want a day care environment, Texas Mutual is your spot! I have not looked back since I left this joke of a company.

Pros

I really tried to say something positive about this Company but decided I shouldn't lie about it. I left on surface amicable terms. I refused to be micromanaged and I was verbal about my dislikes and the desperate need shake the top level to the ground and start over. The regionals, supervisors, leaders are not qualified for their positions. Their mindsets are not appropriate. They see themselves as superior but will not engage in a conversation about streamlining processes and employee retention. C-level "Executives" try to appear differently, but trying to hold an intelligent conversation with these people and consistently get deer in the headlights confirms both levels should be shaken down. If you have a brain, steer clear or be prepared to dumb-down.

Cons

No business practices or Corporate initiatives. No succession planning for employees. I am not able to list them as an employer for the last year and a half. They are a joke in the Industry. Too bad I found out later instead of sooner. That's a year and a half of my life I will never get back. Ugh!!
