Pros

A good work-life balance that comes with a rigid 8-5 schedule; decent benefits provided by the State; some staff are really smart.

Cons

Low salary and no real way to make more in the job; bureaucracy and endless change in how things are done by the management with little communication wasting everyone's time; nepotism - it's a government job after all

Pros

Worked with smart and dedicated staff. Agency is responsible for important work related to the managment and supply development of state waters.

Cons

Science and politics are like oil and water and often the 2 don't mix well.
