Pros

Excellent experience; easy to take time off; many paid holidays; set work schedule and no overtime; nice, large cubicle; excellent benefits and pension.

Cons

They keep throwing more work at you but give no raises; extremely difficult to get all the work done timely because they doubled the Audit quota; no upward mobility; few job openings; those who have been there for over 20 years were around when they freely gave raises and they're making more than anyone coming in now will ever make, and they stay until they retire [oftentimes that person comes back after the 90 day wait period]; the only way to move up is to move to Austin; almost all old people.

Pros

Vacation time. Only way to receive a promotion is by leaving the agency and starting at a higher pay rate somewhere else, then returning. NOT WORTH IT.

Cons

Supervisors on a power trip; no merit/pay increases; performance reviews are not handled properly and often do not encompass all work that was done; CHAPS system (time tracking) is time consuming and VERY outdated; instruction on assignments often change while working on something and employees are not notified; behind closed door meetings with management and information is not provided to lower level staff; no ability to review supervisors; turnover is EXTREMELY high because of lack of pay/merit increases and opportunity for advancement is almost non-existent.
