Pros

If you like working with people who are trying to find a job, this is the place for you. There are many state programs to help them as well as a very large computer lab for them to use with many customer support people to help them navigate the Workforce system as well as employer websites and applications.

Cons

Very busy place. Lots going on. You will be on your feet most of the time.

Pros

They offer a State Pension Plan

Cons

They are at least a decade behind in technology They have outsourced infrastructure management to 3rd parties. The contract is sooo bad, these 3rd parties keep selling it off. SLAs from them are ridiculously slow.

Pros

Opportunity to serve our community. I enjoyed working with the public and being a Public Servant and this position provided me with that. State Employment provides great benefits, good pay and the opportunity to gain more work experience. The only reason I had to resign was because my Mother has Dementia and I am her Caregiver. I am only able to work part-time.

Cons

One downside to working with the Texas Workforce was that not all employees are employed by the State. The majority of the employees are employed by a privatized contractor. Eventually, they will no longer have State Employees.
