Fresh out of college, its very frustrating to bust your butt for years in a technical role and see very little progress in terms of pay. If you want to climb the ladder fast you either need to be in the LDP program, or be in the right place at the right time to shoot up through management. Lots of good technical engineers just get driven away by a lack of progression.

New hires treated like 2nd class employees. As a new hire watch all the guys who have been here 20 years and get paid 2x as much rack up all the over time while management ops out of paying you half as much to come in because your new. Benefits are expensive or awful New hires are put on off shifts Pay for experienced technicians is awful Slow pay progression Feels like there's a huge gap between new hire and 20 year veteran employee treatment.
