Pros

Matching 401K up to 6%, decent benefits, soup and salad in cafeteria....whoo hoo!

Cons

Terrible corporate culture, incompetent managers in managing talent....brown nosers will love! Overworked, sense of exasperation pervasive throughout company....Commercial, Personal, Field, Claims. Nepotism, children of independent agents hired frequently and get away with murder, so knowing people in high places will get you farther. Seen some egregious things done by some of these people and never fired. Not a woman, but do not favor women still despite losing lawsuit in past for discrimination. Frequently hire managers in positions who are pathologically poor in relating to people and more suited to generate reports and work with details. Well known to pay lower historically and introduced a new review system designed to curb pay more. Used to be family oriented and now bottom lines is accountability to shareholders. Very evident trying to shed higher priced experienced workers for low priced inexperienced substitutes.

Pros

Its great if your mom, dad, aunt or uncle work there. You do get free lunch in the "dining room" but that gets old fast. They used to have a pretty good pension plan but it is being phased out - new associates are stuck with a 401k and small match.

Cons

CFC has a lack of career opportunities, pay raises that don't keep up with inflation and almost no training budget. The IT department just implemented a goofy organization structure in IT where I report to a service manager, resource manager and project manager. CFC is very slow to adopt any new technology - upgrades take place when the vendors stop supporting the software. Nepotism is rampant at CFC so don't be surprised if certain people move ahead faster than others for no apparent reason.

Pros

Allowed freedom to do your job most of the time, but field management appears to unqualified to give advice and help.

Cons

Recently seen a lot of employees in their early sixties leaving the company. 2 years ago, these same people were not interested in retirement.. Is someone pushing sr. employees out?t
