Pros

- Job itself is fairly easy and not demanding at all. - Staff is diverse and inclusive.

Cons

- Low pay with little to no opportunities for a raise - Toxic positivity, attempting to mask the company’s major flaws with big smiles - For part-time employees: Long hours and almost no consideration for work-life balance. For full-time employees: Your hours will be cut randomly, and you’ll be begging to pick up shifts. I feel like there’s an easy solution to this one but I can’t quite put my finger on it 🤔 - Constantly understaffing, just for us to get a bunch of walk-ins and have an extremely busy day that’s now made stressful for no reason because we only have two game guides and 6 games to run at once. - People get fired left and right for no reason - HR and management handles sexual misconduct incredibly poorly

Pros

The team was so lovely while I was there. With the exception of a couple game guides with attitudes, the vast majority of the game guides and all of the team leads were great people and amazing to work with.

Cons

HQ is so intense and they really get to the managers and make them overly strict and sticking to certain routines and protocols that we all know from experience do not work. The individual locations should have much more autonomy than they do currently. Also, the comp sucks. Minimum wage for such a demanding job (way more demanding than typical retail) is a joke.

Pros

The kind of people who want to work at an escape room are fun and creative folk. Job is demanding for about 10 minutes after each room session. Otherwise you sit in a room for an hour at a time.

Cons

The kind of people who run an escape room company are awful, and you cant go corporate unless you allow yourself to be brainwashed by their 6 month long religious lecture campaign. Only a handful of non-white management beyond GM position, so good luck my fellow black and brown folks.
