Pros
I had a blast working as a Correctional Officer at GEO. The pay was great for the area. You did not have to have a degree. The job was really easy as long as you actually did your job thoroughly. There wasn't much you had to do. The hardest part was staying awake while working the graveyard shift. It was important to keep the security and safety of the detainees and staff in your mind at all times.
Cons
Like any job, you may have some supervisors that don't know how to speak to you but if you stayed positive it is pretty easy to deal with them. There are also some supervisors that are lazy. You will not have a life away from work, that I'd almost a guarantee. Too much mandatory overtime!
