Pros
Not many, decent co-workers at least at my location
Cons
Horribly high pressure sales environment with ridiculously low hourly pay and all emphasis on getting high dollar sales. In fact, you are actually penalized if you make sales under $1700... and you are penalized if someone comes in just to buy shoes and you do not sell them the 3 step arch support systems starting at $1600+! Yes, you read that right, if someone comes in just to look at Brooks shoes and buys one for $160, you get yelled at for not pressuring them into a fitting for the arch supports... and your average sale is supposed to be over $800 per customer... and close to 40% of the customers who come into the store only want shoes or cannot afford 1600+ dollars... it's a weird company and management is totally oblivious / uncaring. And you are asked to drive to the bank and post office to deposit money and go to the post office to ship items you did not even sell... and "ups"/customers are done in a round robin rotation... so if you are gone running one of these unpaid errands and miss your "up", it goes to the next person... just a terrible place to work. We also are told not to tell customers that the arch supports will flatten over time... sure, they have a lifetime REPLACEMENT warranty but the customer has to come into the store to get them replaced... and there is no money in that so salespeople are penalized for taking adequate time to help warranty customers... just not a good place to work.
