Pros

Pays the bills, secure job, builds customer service skills, good benefits, room for advancement if you survive the first few years

Cons

The survey system that they have is absolutely ridiculous, there are situations everyday in which your job entails you to make an insured unhappy for various reasons. Reasons that are out of your control. In these situations they expect you to miraculously obtain a good review from the insured. There is way too much emphasis put on these reviews compared to other metrics which are more in your control on a daily basis. The workload puts you in a position to fail. 40 hour weeks are a thing of the past.

Pros

Weekends off, training, generous paid time off. The Hartford as a company has many solid benefits, but in restructuring the Claims organization they seemed to have let them drift off and lose their way.

Cons

Poorly run. Northeast Auto was run into the ground long before I was hired. Basically they run the place like a call center. For a company touting a 200 year legacy, they don't even know how to onboard an employee. They were perfectly happy with crummy retention rates, even stating they were proud that not many of their employees were around the year prior. High volume, high stress, no rewards. This is a job you work at until you drop dead from a heart attack at 47.

Pros

schedule flexibility and nothing else.

Cons

High turnover, high intake, inconsistent directives, poor training, favoritism, micromanagement, too metric driven, discrepancies everywhere, very political, the list goes on. I wouldn't recommend this employer to my enemy.
