Pros

My experience working at The Learning Experience took a significant downturn following the unexpected departure of the previous director, Alexis. Under Alexis's leadership, the center fostered a positive and supportive environment for both staff and children. There was a clear sense of dedication to quality care, open communication, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of everyone involved.

Cons

However, since the change in leadership, I observed a noticeable shift in the center's atmosphere and operational effectiveness. The sense of stability and the strong community that Alexis cultivated seemed to dissipate. Communication became less transparent, and there appeared to be a decline in overall morale among the staff. The dismissal of a director who was clearly dedicated and well-respected raised serious concerns for me about the management's priorities and decision-making processes. This decision ultimately contributed to my own departure from the center.

Pros

Training for leadership at headquarters

Cons

No plan for initial onboarding from manager no support from manager constant pressure to combine classrooms and send teachers home to save money, leading to unhappy staff and teacher turnover "15 min counts" from corporate. staff needing to keep a spreadhseet and call into classrooms every 15 mintes to track how many teachers and students are in the class so they can make sure you are sending as many teachers home as possible. They wanted us to do this for a minimum of 6 hours per day, but the preference was to do it for the whole 12 hours. Corporate and franchisees not wanting to spend money for things the center needs but splurges on them and their executive directors and regional managers to go to a big party in another state every year. Those people aren't even the ones at the center everyday, but it's a business write off. Don't care at all about their Directors

Pros

I started out at 16/hour because I finished college and had some classes that related to childcare

Cons

I never received a raise even though I was doing the same tasks as a lead instructor, especially in the preschool and toddler classrooms. Also if more than 3 people call off the lunch breaks are affected and during the noro breakout there were about 5 people who called off and no one was able to take a lunch break.
