Pros

People very passionate about taking care of the environment. A group of very smart team members who are technically astute in their assigned areas.

Cons

Many of the teams think very small and tend to be very task-oriented and work in silos. Many long-timers have no motivation to change and grow. Operate in cliques that are difficult to penetrate.

Pros

Very bright people. Fantastic outlook on the role people play with nature. Unlike most extreme nature organizations, the Conservancy is very open to reaching across the table. Very cool and innovative developments. Good salaries and benefits for a nonprofit. Good reputation. Strong culture.

Cons

Leadership is off balance. Too many 50-something white guys leading the helm and not enough women or racially diverse leaders.

Pros

The mission is wonderful and there are many people that really live for it. Large organization with decent pay for a non-profit. Flexible hours and great work life balance

Cons

The organization is too top heavy which makes it difficult for employees to move up in the organization and too many egos in the organization. Does not acknowledge talent or it takes to long to acknowledge it and good employees are already out the door. Constantly restructuring and reorganizing, which makes it hard to focus on a set a priorities and excel at them. Great work from home policy, but its not consistent makes it hard to have a create a good team environment.
