Pros

Strong technical experts within their technical domains, mission driven work.

Cons

Clueless management with no experience outside of the organization. Shortsighted and self-important, driven by protecting their fiefdoms without regard to employees. A lot of personality driven conflict and turf wars.

Pros

Amazing colleagues, great mission. Strong values and ethics and passion from list staff for the mission. You’ll love the people working on the ground in place-based work. TNC has such a solid donor base in the 70+ age group that legacy gifts alone will carry them for the next 10 years.

Cons

Exec leadership is toxic, narcissistic and juvenile. It’s so large and bureaucratic that internally it moves a bit like the dinosaur it’s seen as in the enviro sector.
