Pros

Good benefits including a 35-hour week and support for remote work, as well as an option for “Nature Fridays” where we can work longer days to get every other Friday off.

Cons

Lower pay than for-profit companies and heavy workloads depending on your role.

Pros

"Come for the mission. Stay for the people." is something you will hear often when you start with TNC, and it's completely true. I work with some amazing people, and I take pride in the work that TNC is doing across the world. Even if my role is just "behind the scenes," I know I'm contributing to TNC's mission, and the organization makes you feel that way. The pay is competitive for the industry and the benefits are good. The option of working remotely (in my case), made this the perfect place to work.

Cons

I feel like the time-off policy could be better (but is probably pretty standard for US organizations). Sometimes the sheer size of the organization can be overwhelming and you can feel a little lost in the fray.
