Pros

- Great colleagues to work with - Opportunity to do work that matters and will be seen - Good pay that allows you to live in DMV area - Resources to do your job

Cons

- If you don’t work in politics, national security or foreign, can feel second-class at times - More diverse staff than most newsrooms, but still has a long way to go to make everyone feel included and heard

Great company, terrible comp plan

Pros

One of the best news brands out there. Most innovative news company in terms of technology enablement. The people who work here are amazing colleagues.

Cons

Comp plan for sales is below par. Newer employees being brought in are paid better, I left because they changed the comp plan and lowballed my base salary while assigning unrealistic growth goals. Wasn't going to toil with low pay to make Jeff Bezos richer. Benefits aren't great either. Not a ton of career growth opportunity compared to larger media companies.

Pros

Great Company culture! Just all around good people and the pay isn’t bad for Media. There is also much collaboration across teams given its size - so room to grow in skill set/experience.

Cons

They want to force people into going into y the office 3x a week. Majority of employees do not want this and they are still choosing to get aggressive with their internal communications
