Pros

Decent Benefits ... if you get to use them.

Cons

- the business is owned and managed by people who no longer know how to get the job done. "The Job" should be making a great product, selling, serving the customer etc. -"the Job" has become survival of management by throwing the worker under the bus to improve the bottom line; therefore management is killing off the business. That starts with frontline supervisors and goes all the way up to caring only about the artificial stock value in the Boardroom. - knowledge and skill is not appreciated, rewarded, nor is it acknowledged. -the culture is suck up nepotism, relational nepotism, and short sighted. -loyalty and productivity are not appreciated. - you will not find integrity in management - the latest wrinkle is to try and turn people into robots, shoving them into phone booth sized workspaces and counting the pieces of paper "allowed" to them in doing their job. To say its "Mickey Mouse" is an insult to Disney; it's just plain stupidity. No one in current management has the slightest idea how to motivate and inspire people to do great things but they are masters at demotivating and grinding people under, sucking out their life and then throwing them out with the trash.

Pros

Profitable company that does a lot of things well.

Cons

Culture feels like a factory with a few bones thrown to employees every now an then. No natural sunlight in most of the buildings. Not a lot of diversity in senior management. Arrogance of management is biggest issue ans the fact the company has had over 20 acquisitions. That tells you they are use to high turn-over. Young employees keep the salary level low.

Pros

Mutiple opportunities in very different businesses globally. Thermo Fisher is in a unqiue position in its industry and provides employees with lots of work!

Cons

There is no consistancy within this company. It was created by many acquisitions and you can see it working there. It doesn't feel like one Thermo Fisher.
