Pros

The pros consist of, or used to consist of, excess overtime; this was sold as an advantage to all prospective hires to argue. The base hourly rates dependent on positions. The overtime would double ones normal 40 hour week pay there used to be minimum to zero micromanagement, a plethora of knowledge base willing to share and work as a team, and...?

Cons

There are many cons, but some more recent ones are the attempted inclusion of a corporate culture with a family business; it has to be one or the other, not both and this is where things are not working or did not work. In a business sense, the corporate mindset is working as efficiency is growing, which I’m sure Helps with the story looking bright on paper, but for a business that has been run as a family and looked out for employees since it started to all of a sudden pump the brakes and try to transition into a corporate mindset, and going about it the wrong way, isn’t working. Another con is is it appears as there’s a lack of sales and also not enough Attention to quality, and or allowing quality to function as it should; what is meant by this is that quality has looked at or argued by choosing words out of specs, i.e. green book, CALTRANS, Ashto... Whatever suits a specific situation – as opposed to doing what is right to set the bar. As previously you mentioned as a pro, the overtime is an expectation when needed, and taken away when it’s not thus resulting and unreliable pay, unless you are a salaried manager/position – all employees have a stipulation that their position can change or they could be used to do whatever is necessary not just what they are being hired for or under a certain “job title“- This is good if work is slow, but only if they are trying to keep you busy. Another con is not recognizing the right employees for the quality of work that they are doing, and the effort they are putting in, not enough training, not enough oversight by department managers.
