Effective Product, Rough Execution

Pros

The product demonstrates better than any technology I've ever seen. It is a fantastic product, no one asked for, so the key is evangelism. No one has this budgeted, no one is looking for this, and it generally isn't a "problem" to be solved. However, a really great line item for existing BI practices and is received well at the business side. Good luck on procurement!

Cons

This is a technology company focused on the NOW. Very little focus on the next few quarters or year. If there is a plan, it leads to my second biggest Con, zero communication, and even less transarency. People come and go here like a revolving door, and no one knows for weeks or months, including VP-level talent. Decisions are made and they depend heavily on rumors and conjecture to tell the story. If your efforts aren't around immediate revenue attainment, you are at risk. We are looking for our third head of Sales in 19 months.

Hello, your feedback is much appreciated. As a tech start-up, we're always trying to learn and adjust with agility, which does mean change and ambiguity. We are working on improving transparency so the whole team can be more aware of the intentionality behind the changes. We will continue to improve on this front.

Pros

People are truly stellar. I knew that the team is good from my interview experience but did not anticipate that the quality of folks will be this good. Good combination of build vs buy/borrow. Strong engineering mindset from design to delivery. Management has been very balanced so far spanning career growth as well as learning. Strong learning focus than anywhere I have seen. I feel that I'm both growing as an engineer here as well as growing in impact and recognition.

Cons

401K program is better than my previous startups but some matching would be good.

Pros

Some people are nice. Decent work/life balance for start up. Flexible hours. Decent benefits.

Cons

- No diversity: ethnic as well as gender diversity is lacking. - You will be told that you will do 'world-class' work here, but in reality you will do very mediocre work on regular basis. - Upper management is very inexperienced. - Unclean office space... it actually reeks of sweaty people, food and smelly feet, many times toilets are un-flushed. - All the C level executives are micromanagers. - CEO is borderline sexist, bully and micromanager who has unrealistic expectations from his direct reports. He says he wants honest feedback but somehow people who give honest (constructive) feedback find themselves not working there soon enough. As a result, the CEO has collected bunch of old-school, corporate yes-men around himself and wants to hear only what he loves to hear. - Lack of planning and continuous shifting priorities - Big talk, big promises but no delivery: for clients as well as employees - Very low standards on all fronts - No career growth path - Non-existent HR - BRO culture

Hello-- I appreciate your feedback and I hope you have shared it directly with your manager. You can also reach out directly to me-- while our HR team is small, we work really hard to make ourselves available to all employees. Your review brings up a number of issues and this isn't the forum to thoroughly respond to them. I would like to point out though that we are working very hard on the diversity issue, both to support our underrepresented team members and also to recruit more minority candidates to join our team. We also put a lot of effort into parting with our employees respectfully and with care, and I encourage you again to reach out to me if your experience doesn't align with that value, as I take it very seriously.
