Pros

Compensation is great. Company will sponsor your licenses. Salary pay while training. Entry bonus if sign-on goals are met. Good work/life balance if effective at sales.

Cons

You won’t get paid if you don’t write business. Strictly commission after getting licensed. Your job relies on your prospecting. Company does not provide sales leads.

Pros

Definitely a caring organization. Encourages personal service, commitment and care of the customer and provides same to employees/representatives. No pressure sales role that puts customer first. Provides all the tools to help you succeed. Company adapts well to industry challenges. Corporate embraces change and shows confidence in direction. Strong potential for future growth.

Cons

Do not expect a base salary. High entrepreneurial attitude and approach brings huge personal and financial opportunity. Changes could be seen as disruptive but disruption creates opportunity. Do not expect a sales role to be a job. You must earn your own income in the manner of a business owner. Determine ahead of time if you are a self-starter and desire control of your own salary. Opportunity to work with peers is encouraged but do not have high expectations of hand-holding.
