Amazing people, leadership could be improved
Pros
The people really are amazing there. The product is really cool too. The day to day with the teams is the most fulfilling aspect of being a group leader.
Cons
With most family owned businesses comes a certain set of ideas and expectations that will never change. The highest level of leadership cannot be fired for poor performance, and you receive completely unrealistic and unsupported goals and direction daily. Despite the countless systems and schedules they insist are "the best because they have been doing this a long time", leadership is very unwilling to listen to its workers and truly consider how the system can be improved based on the feedback from the people building the product daily. If by some miracle you do get the ok to try something new, you get virtually zero support and heaven forbids it fails, you will absolutely be remembered as a failure, not as someone who had the companies best interest in mind and wanted to improved the company by trying something new. The group leader role has the potential to be such a great role, but unfortunately the comments above make it tough to swallow daily.
