Pros

If you don't get what you want, you have two options: look within to figure out what you could have done better, or find a passive aggressive way to "get revenge" (like writing a bad review on Glassdoor). But if you have a good experience, there's little incentive to sign up for a Glassdoor account and post a positive review. After noticing how Tinder management and HR go above and beyond to create one of the best work environments I've experienced, I feel like leaving this review is the least I can do. So here's my Tinder story.. I was contacted by a Tinder recruiter. The recruiter did a great job explaining the engineering position and interview process. The actual interviews were very well organized. The recruiter was professional about contacting me on time and following up after each interview. I have to say, this is one of the most rigorous engineering interviews I've been through. I had to solve tough algorithmic questions, write plenty of code via phone interview, and even do an in-person coding project and present it to their team. The fact that Tinder screens candidates so thoroughly impressed me. Their professionalism and attention to detail during the interview process was also impressive. After receiving my offer, the recruiter was incredibly professional about answering my questions. The recruiter was not pushy and did not play games. Overall, I had a great feeling about Tinder. I couldn't be more happier about my decision to join Tinder. First of all, the engineering team is top notch and everyone is really supportive and friendly. Tinder provides catered lunch AND dinner. This isn't just below average food, I'm talking expensive healthy and great tasting food. Their office space is beautiful and located in one of the most trendy areas of Sunset Strip. Most people eat lunch in a common area, so it's a great way to socialize with people across various teams. If you're a social person, have a sense of humor and enjoy networking with a diverse group of people you're going to have a great time here. Tinder's engineering process is also top notch and I'm impressed with the level of organization and attention to detail with the way our sprints are run. It's naive to expect everyone at at company to get along perfectly all the time. What's important is having an environment where open communication is respected. I've found that assertive and direct communication works best if there are any issues that need to be addressed. Being able to interact with Tinder's CEO and co founders is inspiring and motivating. They are a reminder that with hard work, persistence and social acumen there is no limit to what can be achieved. If you're the kind of person who enjoys growing as a human being and learning how to succeed in a competitive environment, Tinder is the place for you. Big thank you to Tinder HR, CEO & founding team for creating such a special environment to work.

Cons

The only bad thing about Tinder is that it's only a few years old and hasn't been around longer!

Frat Club, and not in a good way

Pros

Free Meals. Free workouts. Used to let dogs in the office. Unlimited time off.

Cons

Long hours. It's a total frat house. Don't get me wrong. I can hang with the best (was president of my college chapter), but this kind of company culture was even too much for me. All the "senior" people are friends of the founder, people in their 20s who have had no other job, yet have VP titles. Which means no real leadership. And they have yet to hire real adults because they just keep hiring friends of friends. I was excited about the possibility of working here but it didn't last long when I saw it was just an internal frat club and if you weren't in the in club, there was no chance of progressing or making any real change.
