Pros
- Chance to use latest technology - Lots of perks - Some talented people to work with - Compensation varies, but if you know what you're worth it can be good to very, very good
Cons
- Work hours are brutal, long, unrewarded. Dinner served at 8 pm to keep people from leaving. Weekends are not "off". - Executives and senior management (directors & up) are relatively incompetent and not used to running a business or managing others. They would make great employees or be great at running a small firm, but TinyCo is too big for their haphazard style. - Increasingly moving away from high quality games to trying to copy whatever is hot. Being known as a rip-off studio makes it difficult to get excited about the work. - Booth MBAs are running the show, but despite their degrees, they can't effectively manage anything, and generally have very limited skillsets (i.e. presentations, corporate finance, etc) - Male dominated culture, makes being a female difficult. Limited HR means lots of off color humor.
