Pros

Made friends & grew my network, snacks. The usual startup stuff.

Cons

Sales "leadership" is a total cancer. Not all of them, but anyone who works here knows exactly who. They are underqualified, micromanage, and play extreme favoritism while lying to everyone's face about how transparent they are. They love to paint the picture about having great collaborative culture where feedback is welcomed, but the truth is the total opposite of that. In fact, nothing at this company is really transparent and nobody respects this leadership. Have seen many good sales people leave on their own soon after starting because they were smart enough to see the writing on the wall. Not everyone has been so lucky. I would only take a sales job here if you're ok with being treated like 5 year old.

Fast-paced, Great Management Team, A Real Growth Opportunity

Pros

You get to work with a fantastic group of people, hired for cultural fit among other things (best culture I've ever worked in- people genuinely care about one another and have a lot of fun together, even during work- imagine that); highly responsive management team (they sniff out trouble quickly, truly listen when a problem is brought to them, and work to quickly address it- my direct team has been positively impacted by this); communicative management team (during COVID, our CEO is on Slack regularly to reassure and communicate with all employees, and does a monthly all-hands that is 100% transparent- the rest of the management team is on top of comms here, similarly); great food benefits (free snacks and lunches 3x week); challenging and varied work, fast-paced, and the feeling that you will be rewarded if you perform (as you see others being rewarded for their performance and tenure- they are celebrated in the all hands); great product and high customer retention rate. I'm proud to work for Tipalti and know I made a great decision in joining.

Cons

This company is for people who can handle life in a fast-paced, quickly scaling company. I personally would not call that a con, but it can be a difficult adjustment for someone who is accustomed to the built-in, already mature and vetted processes and tools of a more mature org.

Thank you so much. It's great to read such a review. You mention some of what we try to do: we collect input from the team - directly, through surveys, and anonymously. We are decisive in keeping this a healthy and respectful work environment, while at the same time professionally challenging and fast-paced.
