      The Originals told to kick the curb

      Pros

      Cool company to work for. I enjoyed my XX amount of years there. I met a lot of great people and got some great experiences out of it.

      Cons

      Obviously COVID took a major toll on toast and heard decisions needed to be made. What is sad is that Toast let get some of the best minds at the company. I'm talking about the best of the best. To save a dollar instead of stretching the dollar to get its max value. I wish they would have given us a reason as to why but I know I will never get that answer.

      Disappointed with company choices and direction

      Pros

      The people you worked with become family. Amazing, talented, and smart contributors with a shared goal. Unlimited PTO was nice but pretty standard.

      Cons

      Company was heavily affected by the Covid-19 crisis and decisions had to be made to cut payroll. While I don't fault Toast for making these tough choices to survive, the decisions that were made on who goes and who stays made absolutely no sense. It was pretty clear that the priority was to lower payroll across the board regardless of tenure history, and loyalty to the company. People who have been with Toast since the beginning were tossed aside to make way for contributors who were less experienced and therefore less expensive. They really just didn't care for the people that got the company to where it is now, extremely disappointing to see.

      Thanks for leaving your feedback. The impact of the COVID-19 crisis, caused us to make several very tough decisions earlier this year. Unfortunately, the decisions to reduce our headcount impacted Toasters of all levels and tenure. We always have been and continue to be a company extremely dedicated to our people, past and present.
