Pros
The base pay is attractive.
Cons
Sales management is very inexperienced. Some only have 1-2 years total sales experience. This has negative impact on multiple things from understanding the needs of sales reps, to being experienced enough to offer sound advice to more seasoned and experienced reps. The micromanagement is also worse than any other company I’ve worked for. Not only do they want to see and hear all the phone calls and emails, they try to tell you how to “email” and what to say. This doesn’t go over so well when you have a manager with 1-2 years experience in sales telling a seasoned sales rep how and what to email. In addition, they want way more details and updates on accounts in Salesforce than try necessary (which again, comes down to inexperience). Their sales process is way too long and inefficient. As a sales rep, not only do you not have access to send a contract yourself, you have to go through a process to get it approved, wait for it to be sent to the customer, and then keep checking to see if it’s been sent and/or signed. Afterwards, the steps and info needed to move a contract forward is way too long and often times repetitive. There is also no flexibility given to the reps on deals or pricing etc. During training there wasn’t a single “mock pitch” done. That is the most common sense practice ever. They instead did mock appointment setting. They also spent more time on telling already experienced reps how to sale instead of using that time to focus on the product. Lastly, for newer employees, they do not practice what most organizations do when it comes to verbal, written warnings, performance plans, etc. They will simply let you go if they feel you are not doing well enough. Even after only a few months of active selling on the job. Proceed with caution when considering a job here because of good pay.
