Pros

You have the opportunity to make great money and create your own path to success. You are put in at atmosphere surrounded by people working toward the same goal as you. Employees feed off each other and help each other achieve the ultimate goal of making money.

Cons

Cold calling isn't the most desirable job description and can be long hours, but the more effort you put in, the more results you'll see

Pros

Fun work environment, very "team" oriented, extremely fast paced, great benefits & 401K, intellectually stimulating, plenty of room for career advancement, no salary cap & executives that are easily accessible.

Cons

Logistics can be challenging and as such individuals need to be able to deal with the associated stress in a healthy manner. Work environment acknowledges this and provides many outlets and plenty of social functions to let off some steam. As with any profession hard work and the determination to succeed are necessary for one to establish themselves in this industry. As such, the first 9 months to a year can be a grind.

Pros

Great team atmosphere, friendships made with coworkers, team outings

Cons

65-70 hours a week is the expectation along with 100 phone calls a day when selling. Literally calling businesses from the same search resources as 1000 other people. The repeated sales calls from TQL hurt reputation. The services aren't price competitive and really only make sense for time-sensitive shipments. Mgmt will tell you TQL only has a tiny portion of the market, but the niche has been filled. If you really want to be a freight broker, look to a smaller company--this one is full. In addition, the draw system is terrible. 35k may work in Cincy, but not for the rest of the country. For some it takes 2 years to earn commission.
