      * Safe place to work; There were no redundancies in Upstream during the recent oil price crash * Smart people to work with and learn from * Interesting technical work

      Cons

      * Slow to change: The company likes to advertise innovation, but in reality is slow to make real changes * You must speak French to succeed at higher levels. There is a real language barrier at the mid to high levels. * It is difficult to navigate the bureaucracy. There are many managers and often no clear line of reporting. * The IT system is very difficult to manage. So much focus on security makes operating a video conference with an external vendor almost impossible.
