Pros

Stable company, easy to find out what is needed from the company. Customers are great to work with. Laid back most of the time

Cons

Payroll payroll payroll not enough payroll. Managers are paid ok, but spread the love to the hourly team members. Did I mention payroll?

Pros

The customers are the best reasons to work for Tractor Supply Co.. If you like to get your hands dirty and like farmers, ranchers, livestock owners, etc., then you'll like TSC.

Cons

The lack of consistant and quality communication from the Regional and District (especially the District) levels, make this a hard company to really enjoy. District managers are NEVER on the same page with regard to anything and their turnover is very high. I had 5 different DM's in one year, at one location, and all wanted something totally different than the others.

Pros

In general, the staff at the store level is more like a family. We all work hard as a team to accomplish a goal. The customers are easier to deal with than any other retailer. Store hours are not bad compared to other retail stores. Health benefits are offered to full time employees at a reasonable rate.

Cons

The executives do not have a clue what is going on in the trenches. They make operational decisions based on a fantasy world that does not exist. How can some some guy/girl sitting in an office, who has never pushed freight, tell us the best way to get the freight to the floor at the store level? The executives consistantly drive the stores staff to frustration, cut staffing, and wonder why your customers are not happy. The inventory replenishment system does not work. The stores consistantly look empty. The pay scale for ASM and SM is way below industry standard. They cut back on payroll at the ends of the quarters to drive up profitability so the share holders get bigger dividends and the executives get a fat bonus, all at the expense of the store staff.
