Pros

There isn't a single pro that outweighs a con. I left this job with not only broken bones and torn ligaments but also the remnants of an assault that happened on the clock. *Please forgive the sarcastic tone in advance. This isn't my favorite thing to write but it's become glaringly necessary that I do so. Much gratitude.*

Cons

Plain and simple: I experienced an assault on the clock. Even though Captain was there, moments when I reported it, he neglected to inquire or follow up with me in any way. That night, in a completely dissociated state, I fulfilled my shift - and then some (opting to help with closing duties of other crew members). Sadly, Captain never followed up with me after the violation, not even in the weeks that passed. Even for someone who is too determined for her own good, I no choice but to resign. Prior to my final decision, I was willing to tolerate how loose Trader Joe's as whole had been with food handling protocols, OSHA guidelines, and even the Department of Public Health storage guidelines. However, after the assault on the clock and lack of any leadership reporting/following up, I couldn't risk working in an environment where violations were deemed acceptable, both in relation to the job itself and my own body's safety. This was the same captain who neglected to advocate for me after workman's comp. And the same Captain who speaks pretty freely about his divorce with fellow crew members, on the clock. Unprofessional doesn't cut it. And neither does the inverted pyramid. *Please forgive the sarcastic tone in advance. This isn't my favorite thing to write but it's become glaringly necessary that I do so. Much gratitude.*
