Pros

• It really builds your CV. Working at Trafigura gives you a brand name and experience that stand out anywhere. People know the pace is intense, so it automatically signals capability. • You learn how to manage time and priorities fast. The workload forces you to get extremely organized. You come out of it knowing how to juggle multiple things without dropping the ball. • You get exposure to many departments. You don’t stay in a tiny bubble, you work with different teams, which helps you understand the business from many angles. • You genuinely learn a lot. The learning curve is steep, and you pick up skills and knowledge quickly because you’re constantly dealing with new challenges. • The salary and benefits are strong. The total package (bonus included) is competitive, and the health insurance is honestly great.

Cons

• The culture is not very people-friendly. There’s a lot of politics, and if the “wrong” people don’t like you, growth becomes very hard no matter how good you are. • It’s a very stressful environment. Expectations are high, and even if you do well one year, the next year the bar moves again. There’s always pressure to deliver more. • Not really a place for long-term work–life balance. If you have a family waiting at home, or if you want stability, it’s not the easiest environment to stay in forever. • There are constant structural changes. Reorgs and new processes come and go so often that they end up confusing people, and it becomes harder to just focus on your actual job. • Some campaigns feel more like PR than reality. Things like the “speak up” campaign look good on paper, but in practice speaking up can backfire, sometimes even leading to consequences rather than support.
