Good work life balance, pay is also good.

As a former employee in this company I have to say i saw quite a bit of unethical practices in regards to hiring. This company scores poorly on diversity, its a white mans bastion. I once interviewed a black person for an entry engineering position, i liked his qualifications and i recommended him to the senior engineers for hire, they blatantly by passed him for an ex army undergrad for no other reason i believe than he was white. I apologised to him and asked him to try again, which he did 5 months later, again i recommended him to the senior engineers for hire but they by passed him for a recently graduated white arab, who had among other things a very poor command of the english language. felt so bad for the black guy I couldnt even contemplate calling him back and telling him we couldnt offer him a job. wouldnt suggest black people apply to this company. America really needs to change

Pros

Work life balance is about average for the HQ of a manufacturing company (50-60 Hrs/ Week). A lot of talented people working at the company, and there are a few amazing managers. Benefits at IR are fantastic.

Cons

Pay is sub par. IR doesn't value the internal employees from a pay perspective, they will only give you a significant raise if you threaten to leave, or leave and then come back.

Pros

Benefits match industry standards, but corporate culture and opportunities are so much better than at similar companies. Best career move I've made was to join Trane. It helped that salaries were considerably higher as well.

Cons

IR corporate involvement is growing, so there may be more headaches associated with that eventually appearing, like restricted travel during the fourth quarter to improve the immediate financial outlook.
