Pros

People - for being such a large company I've been very impressed with the culture. There are very few people that you run across with a chip on their shoulder. PTO - 1st year employee starts at 19 days pto... not bad! Location - Across the street from Union Station, two blocks from Ogilvie, and 2 blocks from the blue line and 4 blocks from the brown line New CEO - has a great vision for the future and is slowly loosening up a very stuffy company Turnover - Accountability is on the rise. It seems like a lot of people who thought they could coast through a sleepy career doing little to no work are getting a rude awakening.

Cons

Technology - Due to incredibly strict security housing so much consumer data, technology lags in terms of both software and hardware Processes - The amount of red-tape and lack of practical training on how to navigate the "system" is awe-inspiring. It's not uncommon to get bounced to 4 different departments over the course of weeks to figure out how to get a minor piece of software installed on your laptop

Pros

As a member of an acquired organization, the individual organization has a great deal of individual opportunity. We have some great advantages over other area offices. Toolset; Progressive initiatives; Accountability; Location; Salary + Benefits > avg; ample training/ conference opportunities; consistent process evaluation; abandoned off-shore/outsourced software development; local scrum teams led by FTEs augmented with contractors; Diligent release process; dedicated operations support dress development efforts to continue w/out production fire interruptions; maturing Agile processes

Cons

It's not a boutique development environment where developers & engineers have free reign - some folks struggle with a PCI compliant environment. Developer accounts are not admin accounts. Working around the restrictive permissions is a challenge. Ninjas find ways to negotiate the system constraints with fluidity. If one were to strictly follow processes, delivery pace would be quite a bit slower. Often times, a high ranking title associated with your name or close manager buddies are the only way to get a request executed across the enterprise.

Pros

I'm in a great team, in a great division of Transunion. TUHC has a great new leader, and a lot of promise for growth.

Cons

Bureaucratic and other typical large company issues.
