Pros

TransUnion manages employee workflow very well in their implementation (Scrum) of the Agile framework, and keeps employees busy, without often feeling overwhelmed. If you like the consistency and predictability of large corporations, you will likely enjoy your employment here.

Cons

Many high-level executives are hired from other or competing organizations, and there is some stagnation when it comes to internal promotions. Mechanistically meeting a deliverable is almost always considered more important than creative, human contribution, and the growth of individuals through applied passion for technology. This is likely compounded by the nature of many large corporations, with such a major emphasis on highly predictable project management, combined with the Agile framework itself.

Thank you for sharing your review of your time at TU. I appreciate your feedback on our Agile transformation - we've been working hard to make progress on this front. I'm disappointed to read the cons in your review - your experience was not in line with my vision for technology at TransUnion. I strongly believe in the human element of innovation and I want my teams to share that mindset. We hope by promoting that culture, our employees will continue to develop and grow into new roles. - Mohit Kapoor, CTO

Pros

Excellent work-life balance with top-notch benefits. The management team really seems to care about their employees. You may have to work late/from home sometimes when the company needs you to, but that is balanced with the ability to work from home when YOU need to; its a fair trade.

Cons

Some red tape to go through to do parts of your job, as with all large companies, but its nothing that can't be easily learned if you have the desire to.
