Pros

Excellent company, great benefits, and the best department to work for in the company. Travelers SIU is on the leading edge of the industry. Work can be unpredictable at times, however this is what makes it interesting. Work load is manageable, however like anywhere, it can seem overwhelming at times but always workable. Management (at least here) is fantastic, and supports us in the field. Coworkers in different departments work well with SIU. Pay is on the higher end within the industry.

Cons

State mandated 8 hour days, nothing the company can do about it for non-exempt employees.

Pros

Good benefits including automatic enrollment in 401(k). Flex spending accounts for healthcare and childcare.

Cons

Managers justify their existence by coming up with newer and more inane metrics to judge their employees. Management governs by "form over substance" as long as they get to check a box that you did "x" they are happy. No discussion of whether checking the box/metric is relevant. Managers promote favorites who drink the metric cool-aid. The smartest do not rise to the top. Just the ones who speak the lingo and keep good metrics. Never mind if they are incompetent.
