      Pros

      Financially solid, innovative behind the scenes, good people, respected in the marketplace by insureds, brokers and competitors. They typically don’t downsize - they prefer to reallocate talent.

      Cons

      Tight on salary even though they tell you they pay over market value for talent. They overwork the best people until they crack or leave. They cut staff but add to your job duties every year. Some departments are infected with serious politics depending on leadership.

      Pros

      The health insurance is great and the employees are for the most part, wonderful

      Cons

      I can't speak for all of the departments but there is entirely too much micromanagement going on in this company. They dump more work on your lap than one person can possibly handle in a 40 hour work week and then nag the mess out of you when things aren't getting done. They're scarce to point out the positive and they jump at the chance to point out the negative. It seems like every year the bar is raised excessively higher and higher and funny enough, it always seems to have raised right before yearly reviews when it's time to start handing out bonuses and raises. There's just too much work and not enough people to handle it. The amount you're compensated is NOT worth the stress...

      The people who work at Travelers are mostly decent.

      Cons

      You will not get any positive feedback. The company has self reviews that are done by your manager. If the manager does not like you, the files will be scored down, Then you will get fired
