Pros

Initial training is good. Used to feel like employees were important to travelers, unfortunately, not any more. Employees are a means to an end now.

Cons

Stressful. Lack of thought for employees well being. Kept on phones answering calls for 2.5 to 3 hours at a time without breaks to use restroom. Have impossibly high performance metrics and managers harrass you and shame you by publishing to all team members each person's metrics.

Pros

There is a lot of variety in the claims that you handle. Most co-workers all work as a team and treat each other as family.

Cons

High turn over and lack of job security. The expectations are nearly impossible and employees always feel threatened they will go on warning and then be terminated. Many good employees have been let go or left themselves so this creates inexperience or more of chance you will not make the #s. There is not any real formal training by managers. Experienced co-workers try to train, but they can only do so much. If you are looking for a company with job security, a work/life balance and local management that respects their employees as people, this company and specifically the location is not for you.

Pros

Travelers is a large company (stability) with good benefits, vacation and sick time, 401K etc. During my tenure they offered flexible work schedules and part time work.

Cons

They don't seem to value their employees. In particular, it appears that long-term employees with higher salaries are being harassed and forced out for perceived "performance issues". I left in 2005 prior to a "mass exodus" of "poor performers". They also did away with flex and part time hours which is a shame for working mothers.
