Thank you for the fantastic review! We’re thrilled to hear your experience was seamless and that you feel equipped for success. A diverse team, growth opportunities, and the right tools are exactly what we strive for every day. As for your only ‘con’ - not joining sooner - don’t worry, we’re working on inventing a time machine for future hires (just waiting on the budget approval!). Until then, we’ll settle for making sure every day here feels like the right time to be part of Travis Credit Union. Thanks for being part of our journey and for reminding us why we love what we do!

Pros

It's a great place to work for when you first start. I was one of the best places I've ever worked for. They do invest in their employees. They have learning and development. Most people are good people there, but not all.

Cons

Leadership seems to be steering the organization toward a fintech-style operation, which sometimes feels misaligned with the community-focused values traditionally associated with a credit union. Advancement appears to depend more on internal politics and executive relationships than on measurable performance or merit, which can be discouraging for motivated employees. There are concerns about unequal treatment and a lack of transparency in how certain employees are managed or supported, suggesting that diversity and inclusion initiatives may not be fully effective in practice. While the organization was once a positive and supportive environment, recent experiences with ineffective management and unresolved behavioral issues have made it difficult for some employees to feel safe or supported. The organization offers stability for employees content with their current positions, but it provides limited opportunities for professional development or upward mobility.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and for your years of service at Travis Credit Union. While we’re upgrading our digital tools, our commitment to advocacy, teamwork, and community remains constant, shown recently through special programs supporting federal employees impacted by the government shutdown. Advancement opportunities are guided by updated processes that strengthen transparency and equity. We’re pleased to see promotions increase year over year across our diverse employee population, and we’re always open to feedback when gaps occur. Unprofessional conduct is never acceptable. If you ever feel unsafe or unsupported, please report it so we can act quickly. Beyond role-specific training, we offer leadership programs, coaching, and on the job development to help employees grow their careers. If you’re unsure about your next step, we welcome a conversation.

Pros

I've been at TCU for a few years and the changes in leadership, culture, and deeper focus on compelling value for our members are amazing. This is a great organization if you want to join a place and make a difference.

Cons

There is a lot of change as TCU works to make things better. I like that, but change can be hard for people that like "status-quo."
